When I was new to the Internet I had no idea what having your own website entailed. I logged onto a site who offered free website hosting and website building, that you could with their guidance create yourself. I had problems but eventually I created something resembling a website. What I mean is, it was by far short of being professional in looks, and I still did not have a way for my customers to shop or pay, such as a shopping cart. My URL of course had to have the name of this company offering it free to be in the URL with my store name. This now makes it nearly impossible for my potential customers to remember my link when they wanted to find me. I decided to get my own domain name, and to outsource my website to someone who knew what they were doing. I used a web site design agency to create it for me and I was very pleased with the outcome. Some might even do the work of the submitting of your website so the search engines can find you and rank you high on the search results.
