Pioneer BDR 101A Disc Burner
This is a blu-ray internal disc burner from pioneer. The connection is through IDE and can read or write blu-ray media at 2X speed. Although it supports multiple and older formats, the read and write speeds for CDs and DVDs are very slow. It is very expensive and cannot be afforded by most of the people. It reads DVDs at 8X speed and writes at 8X. DVD rewritable is written at 4X speed and dual layer discs at 2X speed. This is connected through IDE connection and little knowledge about jumpers is a must. This is a good writer, but the major drawback is with respect to the speed- it is slow compared to the new drives.
