Longines debuted their first watch in 1867

Longines debuted their first watch in 1867 which culminated into a successful creation of wristwatches in the early 20th century. In 1912, along with premiering their creation of automatic timing at the Swiss Federal Gymnastics Meet, Longines began a more daring campaign of moving away from the common place round watches and began to create more daring shaped time pieces. Longines continued excellence through the years led to another ground breaking moment in their history when in 1927, Charles Lindbergh used one of their timepieces on his transatlantic flight. Longines also created a device called Photogines. As this device was the first of its kind, in 1952, it found a home in equestrian sports because of its duality. The Photogines could keep time and it could also visualize the finish line. Find out more with Fortis Watches.
