Closed Cell Foam Insulation – Advantages & Disadvantages
There are some advantages as well as disadvantages of the Closed Cell Foam Insulation over the open cell foam insulation. The closed cell foam insulation provides comparatively better resistance to any leakage of water vapor and air. Besides, the closed cell foam insulation also provides higher R-value and more strength in comparison to the open cell foam insulation. One of the disadvantages of the closed cell foam insulation is its higher density. Though, the higher density provides more strength, it also demands more material to be incorporated. This makes the cost of creating the closed cell foam insulation expensive. This is not so with the open cell foam insulation
